The Astor
Neighborhood Association offers many opportunities for families and
individuals to volunteer. Please take a moment and read about the many
ways that you can make a difference in the quality of your neighborhood.

you want to sign up at a later date.
We welcome all new ideas and suggestions.
ANA Committee Work
Many opportunities for you to get involved and make a difference in our
neighborhood.
Committees include: Social, Government, Historical, and Neighborhood
Outreach/ Informational.

St
James/Astor Park Master Plan
Opportunity to improve our parks.
Help develop park improvement plan and work with government officials to
implement plan.
Popcorn in the Park - Sign up by clicking
HERE.
During summer concerts at St. James Park (Wednesday nights June through
August).
Four people needed each night.
Volunteers work from 6:15 to about 8:30 p.m.
Main fund raising event for ANA.
Sell candy, popcorn and other treats.
Set up and take down of concessions.
Someone with past experience will be there to help.
Block Captain
Occasional delivery of flyers... about once a month or less.
Deliver flyers regarding upcoming ANA events to residents within the
neighborhood.
No knocking on doors or soliciting, just place a flyer on the door.
It takes about 30 minutes to one hour.
Annual Potluck
Held each year on the first day of school in the Fall.
Welcome neighbors and general organization of the function such as table
setup, drinks and food table.
Easter Egg Hunt
Help out during the event, hide eggs, collect donations, and help
children find eggs.
Help organize refreshments.
Wine Tasting
January event to help prevent the Winter blahs.
Help organize this new and extremely popular event.
Tasks include locate site, order appetizers, and general organization
during event.
Printing
Seaway Printing volunteered in 1996 to supply the ANA's printing needs
as required. This includes the newsletter and flyers. Volunteers are
needed to drop off proofs of various printed materials and to pick up
and deliver the final prints to the block captains.
Press Gazette Submissions
Submit Astor Neighborhood information, articles and dates to the Press
Gazette.
